Who we are
Suggested text: The address of our website is: https://www.wicklowpatios.ie.
Comments
Suggested text: When a visitor leaves a comment on the site, we collect the data displayed in the comments form. We also record the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string, which assists us in detecting spam.
An anonymised string generated from your email address (known as a hash) may be passed to the Gravatar service to check whether you use it. The Gravatar service Privacy Policy can be read here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment has been approved, your profile picture will be visible to the public alongside your comment.
Media
Suggested text: If you upload images to the website, you should avoid including images that contain embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Anyone visiting the website is able to download images and extract any location data they contain.
Cookies
Suggested text: Should you leave a comment on our site, you may choose to save your name, email address and website in cookies. This is purely for your convenience, so you need not re-enter your details when you write another comment. These cookies remain for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to establish whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie holds no personal data and is discarded once you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to store your login details and your screen display preferences. Login cookies last for two days, while screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. Should you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie contains no personal data and simply records the post ID of the article you have just edited. It expires after one day.
Embedded content from other websites
Suggested text: Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles and so on). Embedded content from other websites behaves in precisely the same way as if the visitor had gone directly to the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed further third party tracking and monitor your interaction with that embedded content. This includes tracking your interaction with it if you hold an account and are logged in to that website.
Who we share your data with
Suggested text: If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
How long we retain your data
Suggested text: If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are kept indefinitely. This allows us to recognise and approve any follow up comments automatically, rather than holding them in a moderation queue.
For users who register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they supply in their user profile. All users can view, edit or delete their personal information at any time, apart from their username, which cannot be changed. Website administrators are also able to view and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
Suggested text: If you hold an account on this site, or have left comments, you may request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have given us. You may also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This excludes any data we are obliged to retain for administrative, legal or security purposes.
Where your data is sent
Suggested text: Visitor comments may be checked by an automated spam detection service.
